Hi!
I’m Say (also sometimes Sarah) Kodish-Eskind.
I’m a maker of things, a savor-er of moments, a sky appreciator, a sensitive curious excitable playful serious person.
I was born and am currently based in Philly/Lenapehoking.
I’m happy to share a resume and/or more info about my education, training, etc - if that’s wanted please send me a message with your request.
My creative practice is a lifelong exploration of the place where relational, creative, and process meet and merge.
Relationships are a creative process that shapes us throughout our lives and creative practice is itself a relationship.
Creative practice speaks to something we continue to show up to, to spend time with, dedicate energy and resources to. It is a place where things (including ourselves) become more known and where meanings and possibilities emerge. Creative practice creates the path we walk. It moves and grows with us. It is an ever-evolving emergent becoming that simultaneously holds, accepts, and receives you *exactly* as you are in any given moment without requiring you to be anything but what is present. It is process - alive with us.
Over and over again, creative practices have asked me to locate myself within myself, within this world, and ask what ‘creating’ I can practice in this life that honors all I hold dear.
I craft through these materials and processes. What I make are relational offerings - practices of connection formed through connection.
“With-ness-er” speaks to how I make art pieces and what I create. “With” reflects the relational; “ness” makes it alive with process - ongoing and emergent; “er” names the hands in it – the literal practice of creating.
